PayPacket Founder Announced as Finalist in National Business Awards

Cas Thompson Shortlisted in Two Categories at the Best Businesswomen Awards 2026

We are delighted to announce that our Founder and Director, Cas Thompson, has been named a finalist in the Best Businesswomen Awards 2026 in two prestigious categories:

  • Best Business
  • Best Customer Service

The announcement is a proud moment for everyone at PayPacket and reflects more than two decades of dedication to supporting people who become employers through Direct Payments, Personal Health Budgets and self-funded care arrangements.

Recognition for a Purpose-Led Business

Since founding PayPacket in 2005, Cas has been driven by a simple goal: to make employing care staff easier for people who are often navigating some of life’s most challenging circumstances.

What began as a specialist payroll service has grown into a nationally recognised organisation supporting more than 8,000 clients across the UK. Throughout that journey, the focus has remained the same – reducing complexity, providing reassurance and ensuring customers receive expert support delivered with empathy and understanding.

Being shortlisted for both Best Business and Best Customer Service is particularly meaningful because it reflects two principles that sit at the heart of everything we do: building a strong, sustainable business and delivering exceptional support to the people who rely on us.

A Team Achievement

While the awards recognise Cas as the business owner and leader, this achievement belongs to the entire PayPacket team.

Every day, our colleagues work alongside individuals, families, personal assistants and care employers who need practical support and clear guidance. Whether helping a new customer understand payroll responsibilities, managing complex employment situations or simply providing reassurance during a difficult time, our team is committed to delivering outstanding service.

This finalist recognition reflects the dedication, expertise and compassion shown by our staff every day.

Looking Ahead to the Awards

The winners will be announced at the Best Businesswomen Awards Gala Final in October, where finalists from across the UK will come together to celebrate excellence, innovation and leadership in women-led businesses.

Whatever the outcome on the night, being recognised as a finalist in two national categories is a significant achievement and a testament to the impact that specialist, customer-focused services can have.

Thank You

We would like to thank our customers, local authority partners, healthcare professionals and everyone who has supported PayPacket over the years. Your trust enables us to continue improving and expanding the support we provide.

Most importantly, thank you to the thousands of people who choose PayPacket to help them manage their payroll and employment responsibilities with confidence.

We look forward to celebrating alongside the other finalists and continuing our mission to make becoming an employer simpler, less stressful and more accessible for everyone who needs our support.

Congratulations, Cas, on this well-deserved recognition.
